The Lost Colony
I’ve been reading lately about the Lost Colony. If you haven’t heard of it please take the time to read this brief synopsis and follow some of the links below.
The Roanoke Colony was located in present day North Carolina. These people were sent there to establish a permenant English Settlement in the Virginia Colony. This group was organized and financed by Sir Walter Raleigh.
In 1587 John White left the colony and no Englishman saw any of the colonists again.
I’ve read through all of the links below and am really enjoying learning more about these lost people. I hope they made it, it’s possible. I wonder who among us today, if they did survive, are descended from these resilient survivors.
