My Ancestry/Family Tree Maker Problems….
I have Family Tree Maker, and Ancestry. For those of you who don’t know, if you have these two, you can sync them. This will allow you to work on the same tree whether you’re on-line or not.
Well, a little over a week ago I was logged in and hit the sync button. It gave me an error message and said to try later. I tried later and the same thing happened. I tried again, and again to no avail. I gave up and decided it wasn’t going to work and I would need to contact Ancestry for help.
I opened my tree on-line and found that all of the recently updated people were now duplicated…fifteen to twenty times!
I checked my Family Tree Maker and it was the same there…what a mess! The bad thing is there is no *undo* button, the only way to fix this is to delete each person, one by one. Since I had entered more than 250 people, all duplicated 15-20 times…we’re talking about a lot of extra people!
Anyone else have this problem?

GenLady,
The first thing that I would do is use the Tools, Compact File command AND the Back Up feature when offered.
Then, re-sync your AMT from within FTM2012.
I am guessing that you don’t have the duplication in FTM2012.
